This year in 2015 I have been attending a private art class with Barbara Cheshire. I have learnt a new technique a combination of drawing and painting using water colour pencil and oil pastels. I feel with these paintings I have evolved as an artist, pushing myself to another level and stepping out of my comfort zone. My teacher and fellow students also agree that these pieces of artwork are one of my best work to date. Its been a long journey from starting in 2010 at TAFE completing a certificate IV in Visual Arts and then 2011 my diploma in Visual Arts. This gave me the foundations and accreditation to then apply to university to undertake a undergraduate Bachelor of New Media Arts, commencing in 2012 and completed in 2014, receiving my certificate of graduation in march 2015. I feel I have grown and acquired the skills of art. Art is not one that comes easy to me, and I need to work at it more than some others do. But I feel that I am finally at an accomplished stage, with the practice and process of art I have developed my skills to a satisfying and effective artwork series. At present my three works are on display at The Galleria, Riverway Arts Centre, which is located near the Pinnacles Gallery. This is a annual exhibition held for the students of Barbara's art class. The exhibition this year is called 'Invisible Motion: Towards the D-Corner'. A official opening of the exhibition is on Sunday 22 November 2015 at 11am, The Galleria, Riverway Arts Centre. The times of the exhibition is from today 17th November to 20th December 2015. An invitation can be found at Invisible Motion. I am working on another painting for the series at present. A goal is to create 6 to 9 images and apply for a exhibition at a local gallery. Hopefully in 2016/17 I will be back again with this solo show. :)
